Kris Kringle Gift Guide

Do you have to get a Kris Kringle this year for your play group, mothers group, childcare or kindergarten? Are you stuck as to what to get? Well I'm here to help you! These are some of my favourites this year:

The Daju Balloon Ball is great for both indoors and outdoors. It fold to the size of a hankerchief meaning you can take it anywhere! It comes with four balloons and retails for $14.95. Available in floral or cars print. You can find it here

These Daju travel chalk mats are a life saver on long trips. Small enough to fit in a nappy bag or hand bag. We use ours while I'm cooking the dinner and then flip it over and use it a placement when dinner is served. It keeps my toddler occupied and out of the kitchen so a clear winner in our house! RRP is $22.95 and it comes in four designs. You can find it here

Mizzle Squeeky Mouse is a great gender neutral gift. He's the perfect size for little hands to get a grip on and he squeeks as well as rattles. RRP is $14.95 and you can find him here

Calm baby equals a happy Mum I say! The gorgeous lavender scent in the Natural Blossoms Calming Bath will help baby get ready for a good nights sleep. Best of all there are absolutely no chemicals in this product. RRP $14.95 and you can find it here

You can never have too many hats when you have a small child. We're forever loosing, forgetting or misplacing ours. An adjustable one like this WALNUT Melbourne hat is a must have. This one is sized for 1-3 year olds. RRP $24.95 and available here

Gorgeous WALNUT Melbourne Hair Elastics available in lots of fabrics to match their canvas shoe range. $4.95 for two makes them an absolute winner! Find them here

It's so important to protect children's eye's right from the start. These very cool Babiator sunglasses are 100% UVA & UVB protective and come in some very cool colours. They even have a lost and break proof guarantee! RRP $29.95 and you can find them here

I'm so in-love with these OB Designs DingaRings! Funky and entertaining. Each one rattles, has a teething ring and sensory developing fur and tags. They all have names, occupations, likes and dislike so check them out here. RRP $19.95

You can never have too many Bibs. This one is from Gaia Organic Cotton and is suitable from birth to toddler years. Its made from stretchy 100% certified organic cotton and the grey spot print makes it a great gender neutral choice. RRP $14.95 and you can find it here

Designed by a Mum, this Orla & Maeve play make-up is suitable for 4 years plus. It contains no nasties such as parabens, mineral oils and sulphates. In fact it's made of completely natural products so it's also good for your little one. All the make-up is tinted so no fear of someone leaving the house with bright blue eyes and purple lips. RRP $5.00 each and you can find it here

Without a doubt the best find I ever had at a market one day and one of the most popular items in my shop. This is the Bungy Buddy by Squiggle Pop The elastic loop and adjustable toggle can be attached to just about anything, then clip it onto bubs pram, car seat, sling/carrier or high chair. No more pulling the car over to search for that drink bottle junior just threw in the midst of a tantrum, or getting home to discover your little miss's favourite snuggle toy was dropped at the shopping centre and now she won't sleep! Just $14.95 and you can find them here

So there you have it. These are my suggestions but I would love to hear from you as to what you think make great Kris Kringle Gifts. Merry Christmas!

The Birth of the Petit Armoir Blog!

So here it is, our very first post! We hope you enjoy reading our regular posts about kids fashion, new products and generally what's happening at Petit Armoir

I'll start today's with our recent entry into the Albury Christmas Window Competition. It's an annual event around here and whilst the prizes aren't huge, it's certainly fun entering and hopefully this year we might win.

I spent a lot of time on Pinterest looking for inspiration. Our theme was "A Traditional Christmas" and we were asked to think about what Christmas meant to us. My fondest memories are waking up on Christmas morning and the glee of finding a gazillion presents under the tree (there wasn't really but when your a kid, five equals a gazillion!). So I set out to create a massive pile of presents.

My other memory is of Christmas lights and driving around on Christmas Eve after church looking at all the houses lit up with lights. They always seemed magical and really incorporated the essence of new life and Christmas. So when I saw a Christmas display on a UK website incorporating both presents and Christmas I knew exactly what I wanted to do.

I threw the lights over the giant pile of presents and added a few decorations for a bit of extra oomph!

You always wear something special for Christmas and I love this red tiered dress from ChalknCheese. The Necklace is from 'and the little dog laughed' and I think it shows how versatile the piece is. You can dress it up or down depending on the accessories you use. Add a pair of Walnut Silver Ballet Flats or even the coveted Walnut Ruby Sandals in White and viola! There's your perfect Christmas day outfit!
